Freedom fighter Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, has returned to Nigeria. His spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, announced his homecoming, stating that he is back in the country for his mother’s burial.
The statement was brief and accompanied by a video posted on his X page.
He wrote: “I can confirm that Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho is currently on his way to Igboho Town for the final burial of his mother MRS S.A.ADEYEMO.
“The body of MRS S.A ADEYEMO was picked up from the mortuary in SAKI TOWN some few hours ago.”
In the video, Sunday Igboho can be seen at a mortuary with some individuals. Igboho had fled Nigeria to Benin Republic in 2021 after being declared wanted by the DSS.
He was wanted for his activism for the Yoruba Nation and his alleged involvement in attacks on Fulani herders in the Southwest.
While in Benin Republic, he was arrested while trying to travel to Germany with his wife but has now regained his freedom after two years.
