Nicki Minaj issued an apology to her fans after her Manchester concert was cancelled due to her detainment in Amsterdam.
The rapper was detained by Dutch police for allegedly carrying drugs, causing her to miss her scheduled performance at Co-Op Live arena.
Minaj livestreamed her own arrest and later revealed she had made it to Manchester but was too late to perform.
She blamed Dutch authorities for deliberately delaying her, prompting the cancellation of the show.
“Thank you to everyone who prayed for me today. May God cover you & all that is connected to you,” the Anaconda rapper wrote. “May you be blessed beyond your imagination.”
Despite the setback, Nicki Minaj assured fans that she would reschedule the Manchester concert for either June or July.
“After sitting in a jail cell for 5-6 hours, my plane still didn’t take off for another 20 mins once I boarded,” she raged. “The flight was 50 mins. 50 mins. That’s why they had to do the big song & dance b/c they knew I’d still find a way to perform even if it came down to my last 90 mins in the building which would have been until 1130pm. The building was willing to go past 11pm. So grateful to them for that.”
Nicki Minaj then apologised to her fans for the cancellation, writing: “Please please please accept my deepest & most sincere apologies. They sure did know exactly how to hurt me today but this too, shall pass.”
She also announced that her upcoming Birmingham gig would proceed as planned now that she was safely in the U.K.
