American rapper Nicki Minaj has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Nigerian social media influencer Dr Penking over allegations of cyberbullying and copyright infringement.
The dispute began after the influencer shared an old video of the rapper on the social media platform X on Saturday.
Alongside the clip, Dr Penking reportedly wrote that Nicki Minaj should “understand that she has gotten old and retire,” a comment that quickly drew attention online.
Responding to the post, Nicki Minaj questioned whether the influencer had obtained permission to use the video before sharing it on the platform.
She also accused him of using the clip to harass her publicly.
“Do you have permission to use this video that I filmed years ago to harass me on this or any platform?” Minaj wrote in response.
The rapper further stated that the influencer had been added to a legal action she is pursuing.
“You’ve just been added to the suit,” she wrote.
The development has since sparked reactions on social media, although further details about the legal filing and the court where the case was lodged have not yet been made public.
