Sitting in Abuja on Monday, the Bayelsa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal affirmed the election that resulted in Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State.
A three-man panel chaired by Justice Adekunle Adeleye dismissed the petition brought by the All Progressives Congress candidate, Timipre Sylva, and the party for lack of merit.
In a unanimous verdict, the tribunal found that the petitioners failed to provide convincing evidence to support any of the charges they made against Diri’s re-election.
