Enemies of Rivers working relentlessly to frustrate me – Fubara

Fubara

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has articulated that certain individuals who oppose the advancement of the state are aiming to impede his administration from functioning at its best.

These individuals, identified as adversaries of the state, have made concerted efforts to disrupt his governance.

This revelation was made by Governor Fubara during his interaction with the officials of the Standing Committee and members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, NGE, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Port Harcourt.

Fubara emphasized that the opposition elements have persistently tried to undermine his administration at every juncture in its quest to provide effective governance and high-quality services to the populace.

Furthermore, the governor declared that the ongoing administration will not finalize the monorail project initiated by the previous Chibuike Amaechi-led government unless a committed private sector investor decides to allocate resources to the project through a well-structured public-private partnership agreement.

Governor Fubara emphasized his preference not to be recognized solely for the iconic road projects of constructing legacy bridges and flyovers but rather for establishing a lasting impact on human capital, manpower development, and other crucial infrastructure milestones to address the gaps in healthcare and education within the state.

He outlined various attempts to obstruct the governance process in the state, including clandestine communications to influential speakers and notable personalities invited to partake in the recently concluded Rivers Economic and Investment Summit, advising them against aligning with his administration or engaging in the initiative aimed at positioning the State for substantial investments and progressive economic revitalization.

The governor highlighted the courage displayed by some speakers and guests who honored the government by actively participating in the program.

Additionally, he drew the attention of the editors to endeavors aimed at stalling the revival and completion of the Port Harcourt International Automobile Spare Parts Trading and Commercial Centre, which was recently initiated in Iriebe, Elelenwo, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

These efforts involved persuading the previous contractors, who had abandoned the project due to inadequate support, to take legal action against the state government, thus derailing the project.
