The statement attributed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, titled ‘Tinubu Speaks’, has been refuted by the Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, in a concise announcement made on Saturday.
Ngelale explicitly questioned the credibility of the circulated statement.
“Based on recent inquiries, I wish to reiterate that this is fake and does not emanate from the Presidency,” Ngelale stated firmly.
CREEBHILLS has highlighted the widespread dissemination of the statement across various social media platforms, purportedly presenting President Tinubu‘s proposed solutions to the country’s economic hardships.
The list of proposed actions includes significant measures such as a 50% pay cut for high-ranking government officials, the elimination of the First Lady’s Office, and the reintroduction of fuel and electricity subsidies to alleviate the current plight of the populace.
Additionally, the statement suggests that the President intends to downsize his ministerial team, divest presidential aircraft, and impose a restriction on overseas medical journeys for government authorities.
These developments occur amidst escalating tensions surrounding the anticipated August 1-10 austerity protest in Nigeria.
