His exit not surprising – Labour Party reacts to Kenneth Okonkwo’s resignation

Atiku should be prosecuted by INEC over ‘north needs northerner’ remark – Kenneth Okonkwo

The Labour Party, LP, has labeled Kenneth Okonkwo as a mole and expressed no surprise at his departure from the party.

The Party criticized Okonkwo’s public criticism of their 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, calling it unfortunate and a bid for attention.

Kenneth Okonkwo, a prominent member of the LP, recently stated that he no longer trusted Obi’s leadership abilities to secure election victories.

In response, the LP’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, stated that Okonkwo’s decision to resign did not catch the party off guard and described his criticism of Obi as regrettable and seeking attention.

“Kenneth Okonkwo’s resignation from the Labour Party didn’t come to us as a surprise. We also think that his attack on the party’s leader, Peter Obi, is rather unfortunate

“However, we will continue not to dignify him with any response, as we understand that his attention-craving attitude knows no bounds,” he said.

According to the LP spokesperson, the party remained committed to supporting Obi as its 2027 presidential candidate.
