Ademola Lookman, the Atalanta winger, couldn’t inspire his team as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday.
Lookman had shined in their victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final, but Madrid proved to be too strong for the Serie A side.
Federico Valverde opened the scoring for the LaLiga giants in the second half, tapping in Vinicius Junior’s pass. Kylian Mbappe then scored his first goal for Madrid after a clever assist from Jude Bellingham.
With this win, Real Madrid now hold the record for most UEFA Super Cup victories with six titles.
