Rapper Nicki Minaj has recently made comments that seem to be directed towards Jay-Z after Kendrick Lamar was chosen as the headliner of the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show instead of her former record label boss, Lil Wayne.
Reports from CREEBHILLS indicate that the decision was made by the National Football League, Apple Music, and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.
In response to the backlash that Jay-Z has been receiving for selecting Lamar over Wayne, Minaj took to her X handle on Monday to express her frustrations.
She wrote, “Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego. Your hatred for Birdman, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?! Lil Wayne! The GOAT! Nola, what’s good?!
“Eminem stood firm on having 50Cent come out. A white man. Sh*t sad. House n*gger timz. but it’s good fi dem! No loyalty? Welp. then n*ggaz will keep son’ing you!”
She praised Lil Wayne for his contributions to the hip-hop world and highlighted his role in bringing artists like herself and Drake into the limelight.
