Employees of the Adamawa State Government have been given a deadline to submit their certificates for verification.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has instructed all workers in government establishments to present their credentials promptly.
The verification process, as stated by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, is to ensure that only qualified individuals hold positions and to ensure that opportunities are not denied to the younger generation.
“This exercise is not intended to witch-hunt anyone but rather to ensure sanity in the system,” the governor said, warning that failure to comply will result in the forfeiture of October salaries until the certificates are submitted.
Governor Fintiri assured that no one will be denied their salary if they present their certificates before the end of October, stressing that the exercise is necessary to check system failures traceable to people who are not qualified for the positions they hold.
“These issues must be addressed. The service should be a haven for scholarship and honesty, rather than a haven for misfits,” he said.
