BREAKING: Fubara to swear in newly elected LG chairmen by 4:00 pm

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State is set to swear in the newly elected local government chairmen today (Sunday).

The ceremony will take place at 4:00 pm in the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt.

The announcement was made in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo.

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) declared the winners of the local government elections, with the Action Peoples Party (APP) winning 22 out of 23 LGAs.

The statement reads: “His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Governor of Rivers State, will today Sunday, October 6, 2024, swear-in the newly elected Council Chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, by 4:00 pm.

“The newly elected Chairmen, along with one (1) guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30 pm.”
