As heavy storms and rain continue to hammer Spain, the home of Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has been severely flooded.
The storm’s most severe impact has been reported in the Barcelona area.
A red alert weather warning has been issued for the region, indicating “extreme danger.”
Authorities have warned locals to avoid needless travel as the region deals with intense flash floods, which have claimed at least 217 lives in eastern Spain.
The flooding reached Lewandowski’s residence, and his wife, Anna, shared footage on Instagram showing ankle-deep water in their parking area.
Her videos also captured cars attempting to drive through flooded roads near their home.
Despite the challenges posed by the storm, Barcelona’s recent La Liga match went on as scheduled, with Lewandowski playing the full 90 minutes in a 3-1 win over Espanyol.
Although he didn’t score in that match, Lewandowski has been in impressive form this season, netting 17 goals and providing two assists in just 15 appearances across La Liga and the Champions League.
