Oprah Winfrey, an American television host, refuted claims that she was paid $1 million to campaign for Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris in the recent US presidential election.
Reports from the Washington Examiner suggested that her company, Harpo Productions, received payment to host a celebrity town hall for Harris in September.
However, Oprah clarified that she did not accept any payment to support the Democratic nominee.
“Not true. I was paid nothing, ever,” TMZ quoted Oprah as saying.
Despite being tight-lipped about the election results that led to Donald Trump becoming the President-elect, Oprah Winfrey stood firm on her stance of not receiving compensation for her political involvement.
