Trinidadian-born rapper Onika Tanya Maraj, also known as Nicki Minaj, has once again caught the attention of the Nigerian internet with her attempts to speak in the country’s Pidgin language.
In a recent release of her new single “If It’s Okay,” featuring David Guetta and Nigerian singer Davido, Nicki Minaj has stirred up excitement online.
In a playful tweet directed at Davido, the pop icon jokingly claimed that the Afrobeats star was trying to impress her with their collaboration.
“AH! @davido Dey try win me for my own song eh? No worry, my own Dey come soon for una pikin & the Barbz worldwide. #IfItsOkay #ThePinkprint10YearAnniversary.qw.”
Davido, never one to back down from a good-natured attack, immediately responded: “I come in peace.”
Taking to Instagram to further emphasize her statement, Nicki Minaj left many in stitches with her humor.
