Nigerian music star Davido has revealed that American artists Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj admire Africa and its music and culture.
During a recent interview with Hot 107.9 FM in Atlanta, he shared that both Brown and Minaj prefer incorporating Afrobeats into their collaborations with him rather than sticking to Western styles.
“My recent collaboration with Nicki Minaj, ‘If It’s Okay,’ has a lot of Afrobeats influence because she wanted full African flavor on it. These days, foreign artists want to do our musical styles, so it is easier for me to work with them,” he said.
Chris Brown has collaborated with various African artists such as Davido, Wizkid, Rema, Fireboy, and Lojay, and has even toured with Ayra Starr and South Africa’s Tyla.
Nicki Minaj has also worked with Mr. Eazi, Davido, and Skales, showing her appreciation for African music.
