The father of Ademola Lookman, the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year, has commended his son for his dedication and modesty.
Lookman was named Africa’s top player at a glamorous event in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday evening. At 27 years old, he is the sixth Nigerian to receive this esteemed honor, following in the footsteps of his compatriot Victor Osimhen who claimed the award the previous year.
Lookman’s father, who was present at the ceremony with his son, praised the Atalanta winger for his unwavering focus on his profession and lack of interest in the spotlight.
“I am proud of him as a father because he is a very committed player, he is very humble, he does not like too much publicity, because he really wants to focus on his football. And that is what has taken him to this level,” he told live score.
