Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked a debate with his recent relationship advice, encouraging people in unhappy marriages to leave rather than endure abuse or harmful situations.
In a post on Instagram, Yul Edochie reacted to a disturbing video of a woman who was badly burned by her husband, expressing his belief that marriage should not be seen as a life-or-death commitment when things are no longer going well.
“If your marriage is not working, let go. Let go, walk away.
I saw the video of the lady that was
burnt by her husband & it broke my
heart.
Those having marital issues, listen up: Even if you catch your wife with another man, there’s no justification for harming her.
If you catch your husband with another woman, there can be no justification for harming him.
Don’t kill another human being because of marriage.
Marriage is not do or die. Walk away,” he wrote.

Although his words were welcomed by some, others highlighted the irony of his advice given his own past controversies involving infidelity, such as his relationship with Judy Austin while still married to May Edochie.
