Drake and LeBron James are no longer considered friends.
They maintained a close relationship for over ten years; however, this connection has since deteriorated.
James has fully embraced his affiliation with Los Angeles and has publicly aligned himself with the rapper’s rival, Kendrick Lamar.
Furthermore, Bron even performed to “Not Like Us” during the Pop Out show on Juneteenth. The predicament for Drake, nonetheless, lies in the fact that he has incorporated lyrics referencing LeBron in several of his most celebrated tracks.
Nevertheless, the rapper successfully navigated the situation by refraining from extolling the NBA star during a recent concert in Australia.
Drake delighted his audience with a rendition of his 2018 hit “Nonstop.” The lyrics of this composition allude to the alteration of LeBron James’s jersey number.
“How I go from 6 to 23 like I’m Lebron?,” the 6 God rhetorically asks. After the Kendrick Lamar battle, and the broken friendship, though, Drake opted to make a few lyrical changes. “How I go from 6 to 23 but not LeBron,” he raps in front of the audience.
Although it is a subtle modification, it carries significant implications.
Drake has not publicly addressed his rapport with King James, yet his actions have unequivocally signified his disinterest in fostering a relationship in the foreseeable future.
