Shakira cancels concert amid safety concerns

Shakira Spotted in High Spirits After Emergency Hospitalization in Peru

Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour is facing another setback in South America. The Medellin, Colombia concert has been delayed due to safety concerns.

A statement from event organiser Paramo Presenta explained:

“During the process of setting up the show scheduled for 24 February, the stage roof installed by a local production company suffered damage that put the artist’s safety at risk.”

The event was supposed to take place at the Atanasio Girardot Stadium, but a new date will be announced soon.

This announcement comes after Shakira had to postpone the Lima, Peru show last week due to abdominal pains. She has since recovered and resumed performing on the tour.

Shakira has upcoming concerts scheduled in Bogota, Colombia on February 26 and 27.

The tour will continue in North America later this year with a series of stadium shows starting in May.

“I’m so excited to share my best show yet with you,” Shakira wrote on Instagram last year when announcing the global trek’s new 2025 dates.

“Thank you all for supporting and inspiring me to keep pushing myself. I can’t wait to celebrate with you in May!”
