Military intercepts aircraft flying above Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate

The United States military announced on Sunday that it had identified and “escorted out” a civilian aircraft that contravened a temporary flight restriction (TFR) in proximity to President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.

This information was articulated in a statement disseminated on Sunday by the North American Aerospace Defense Command, commonly referred to as NORAD.

NORAD reported that its F-16 fighter jets engaged in response to “a general aviation aircraft” that was operating above Palm Beach, Florida.

According to reports from Fox News, NORAD, an alliance between the United States military and Canada, indicated that the civilian aircraft breached the TFR at approximately 1:15 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

Nevertheless, NORAD affirmed that the aircraft was securely escorted away from the Mar-a-Lago by its operational aircraft.

In accordance with the statement, NORAD aircraft had deployed flares during this incident, which may have been observable to civilians in the vicinity.

NORAD Commander General Gregory Guillot remarked that the agency collaborates closely with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to ensure the security of American airspace, with particular vigilance afforded to regions under Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFR).

NORAD disclosed that it has addressed “over 20 tracks of interest” that have entered the TFR zone of Palm Beach since the inauguration of Trump on January 20.
