During an interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker on Sunday, President Donald Trump claimed that he has been the subject of more investigations than Al Capone and anyone else in the history of the United States.
Despite this, Trump maintained that he had successfully overcome all the investigations against him.
“I’ve been investigated more than any person in the history of the United States of America,” Trump said.
“I’ve been investigated more than Al Capone, more than anybody and I won.”
Al Capone, an infamous American gangster and businessman, gained notoriety during the Prohibition Era as the co-founder and leader of the Chicago Outfit from 1925 to 1931.
Capone’s criminal empire came to an end when he was incarcerated at the age of 33.
Born in New York City in 1899 to Italian immigrants, Capone began his criminal career as a member of the Five Points Gang before moving to Chicago and becoming a bodyguard for Johnny Torrio, the leader of a criminal syndicate involved in illegal alcohol activities.
Capone passed away in 1947 from a stroke-induced cardiac arrest.
