Donald Trump has stated that he is not interested in running for a third term as President of the United States.
Throughout his time in office, he has been known for going against the grain and doing things differently.
Despite The Trump Organization selling “Trump 2028” hats, the 78-year-old has denied any plans to stay in office beyond his second term, which ends in January 2029. He is emphasizing that he has no intention of seeking reelection.
Speaking on NBC‘s Meet the Press with Kristen Welker, the US President said:
“I’ll be an eight-year president, I’ll be a two-term president. I always thought that was very important.”
He added:
“There are many people selling the 2028 hat, but this is not something I’m looking to do, I’m looking to have four great years and turn it over to somebody — ideally a great Republican.”
