Moment Vatican security blocks Seyi A notable incident occurred in Rome during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to the Vatican for the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV, when his son, Seyi Tinubu, was stopped by a Vatican security officer.
Seyi, who accompanied the president as part of the official delegation, reportedly attempted to move closer as his father greeted the newly installed Pope.
Clad in a stylish black suit mirroring the president’s attire, Seyi was seen approaching the interaction zone before being intercepted by a plain-clothed Vatican security personnel.
A video capturing the scene has since gone viral, sparking widespread discussion across social media platforms.
“What is Seyi Tinubu doing there?” and “In what capacity is the president’s son attending such a high-level diplomatic function?” one user questioned.
Notably, a separate video emerged hours later, showing Seyi Tinubu dining alongside senior officials of the Roman Catholic Church.
President Tinubu’s Vatican visit also included an encounter with one of his key political opponents, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election.
