In a surprising turn of events in Tory Lanez’s prison saga, the man who reportedly stabbed him 14 times now claims he was acting in self-defense against the ‘Say It’ singer.
Tory Lanez, currently serving a 10-year sentence for his role in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion in 2020, was recently hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times in a prison attack at California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi on May 12.
This incident intensified efforts by Lanez’s legal team to secure his release, with his father Sonstar Peterson announcing that Lanez will be moved to a different facility to avoid further confrontation with the alleged attacker, Santino Casio.
In a recent interview with TMZ, Casio alleges his brutal attack on the rapper was self defense.
“I rushed him. I just kept slamming him and stabbing him,” Santino shared after saying Lanez seemingly revealed before the incident occurred.
When quizzed on if his intent was to kill Tory, the suspect was quick to reject the notion.
“No, not at all,” he said. “But, I thought I’d seen a weapon; I felt threatened. And, when I felt like a sting in my leg, I thought ‘oh, sh-t…he stabbed me!’ So, I moved back and kept stabbing him more.”
Later in the interview, Casio – who is already serving a life sentence for other crimes he’s been convicted of – said he heard rumors the rapper put a “bounty” on him and assumed Lanez was coming to complete the job himself.
Reports have it the Canadian hitmaker (born Daystar Peterson) had 14 stab wounds after the brutal attack: 7 times in the back, 4 times in the torso, and 3 times in the head.
