“Can’t you see I just came back” – Young Lady in Viral Uber Clash Breaks Silence, Defends Actions Against 50-Year-Old Driver

Young Lady in Viral Uber Clash Breaks Silence

The young Nigerian woman involved in a now-viral confrontation with a 50-year-old female Uber driver has spoken up to share her side of the story.

Known on TikTok as @hermajestygem, she released a detailed video offering context behind the tense exchange that has sparked heated debates across social media.

“We Were Actually Excited to See a Female Driver”

In her explanation, @hermajestygem stated that she and her aunties had boarded a ride in Lagos and were pleasantly surprised to see a female behind the wheel, a rare sight in the rideshare space.

However, the situation allegedly deteriorated when they noticed the driver’s personal items occupying space in the back seat.

“We were actually happy to see a female driver, because that’s not something you see often,” she began.
“But when we told her that her personal belongings were taking up space, her tone changed instantly.”

“She Snapped and Said, ‘This Is My Car’”

According to her, the moment her aunt pointed out that Uber drivers typically shouldn’t leave personal effects where passengers are meant to sit, the driver became defensive.

“She said, ‘Can’t you see I just came back from my other job? Besides, this is my car.’ That’s not the kind of response we expected.”

@hermajestygem noted that the exchange escalated because she felt her aunties were being disrespected, which is what prompted her to speak up more forcefully.

“She responded to my aunty like that, and I took it up because you’ve disrespected my person, who is also an elderly one,” she explained.

Aunt Confirms Aggression From Driver

The young woman’s aunt, who filmed the incident, also confirmed that the driver was reportedly rude from the start, which made her begin recording in case things got worse.

“She didn’t even greet or respond properly. She was already upset before we even started talking,” the aunt claimed in the follow-up video.

Responding to Online Criticism

In her defense against critics who accused her of being disrespectful to an older woman, @hermajestygem stood her ground.

“I guess you’re used to people talking to you anyhow because they’re older,” she said.
“Maybe if it was just me, I’d have let it slide. But she was rude to my aunties first, and that’s where I drew the line.”

Mixed Reactions Continue

While some social media users have now softened their stance after hearing her side, others insist that age should be respected regardless of the circumstances.

The incident continues to trend, raising broader questions about mutual respect between generations, boundaries in public service roles, and how disagreements should be handled in shared spaces.

With both sides of the story now in public view, the viral clash serves as yet another reminder of how tone, courtesy, and empathy can make all the difference in everyday interactions.
