Popular Nollywood actress and podcaster Biola Adebayo has officially confirmed her separation from husband Oluwaseyi Akinrinde, shutting down speculations of domestic violence in their marriage.
Taking to Instagram on June 3, the 42-year-old revealed that the couple parted ways in April 2024 and are now prioritizing peaceful co-parenting of their son, whom they welcomed in April 2023 via surrogacy.
“I sincerely apologise to everyone who is disappointed. I wish my marriage worked but it’s better to leave than to live in bitterness and regrets. It’s better to stay alive for my child and myself,” she wrote.
Biola Shuts Down Domestic Violence Claims
Amid online rumours suggesting abuse, Biola issued a firm denial, stating that violence was never part of their relationship.
“My ex-husband, Seyi, has never laid a finger on me and I never did as well. We never ever had any physical abuse or violent issue from either of us,” she clarified in an updated version of her post.
Biola, known for keeping her private life off social media, said she chose to speak up to stop false narratives from spreading.
“Almost every night for the past 14 months, I cried myself to sleep,” she added, describing the emotional toll of maintaining a happy front while privately struggling.
