Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has firmly debunked widespread rumours suggesting domestic violence in her marriage to businessman Olakunle Churchill.
This comes hours after Churchill also addressed the speculation, revealing that his wife and children are currently enjoying a vacation at Disneyland Paris, far removed from any supposed marital crisis. He sarcastically remarked that his critics would have to wait until menopause before he and his wife consider divorce.
Speaking via her social media page, Rosy Meurer stated that although she typically avoids responding to rumours, she felt compelled to set the record straight for the sake of her family and children.
“If you don’t tell your side of the story, they will tell it for you in ways that suit them for the world to believe. It’s the world we find ourselves in. YOU MUST SPEAK UP FOR YOURSELF!” she said.
Rosy categorically dismissed claims of domestic abuse, emphasizing that her husband is not a woman-beater.
“Debunking has never been my thing, I prefer to allow amateurs and jobless, idle minds to think what they want and spread what they choose. Still, because I have a family, I have children, and I have people who look up to me, I choose to speak up for myself. NO ONE is allowed to tell my story. It’s my story, not yours,” she added.
The actress criticized rumour mongers for wishing violence upon her marriage, suggesting that such negativity often reflects issues in their own homes.
“It’s funny when haters wish beating in my marriage when it is obvious their mothers and sisters will fall victims of massive beatings. My husband is not a woman-beater! They just want to permanent the lies of the past which they generated. Kudos!” Rosy concluded.
The couple’s public denial comes amid renewed social media speculation about their relationship, which has remained under public scrutiny since they got married.
