Nigerian TikTok sensation and content creator, Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has shared emotional details of her challenging upbringing, revealing that she was forced into hard labour from a young age.

Speaking during a recent TikTok livestream, the Edo-born star recounted how her early exposure to work life and hardship may have affected her ability to express her femininity.

“At a young age, I became a man. Maybe that is why it is so difficult for me to act like a lady,” she said. “Because I was forced to be a man, I was forced to start doing things at an early age; working under people. I have suffered.”

Jarvis revealed that she worked as a salesgirl for multiple shop owners and that one of those jobs ended traumatically when she was robbed while managing the store in her boss’s absence.

“I did salesgirl for several people. I’m sure my bosses will be happy seeing who I have turned out to be. There was a day my madam travelled and left the store in my care. I was desperate to please her by making good sales. But unfortunately, I was robbed that day,” she narrated.

Despite the incident, Jarvis recalled her boss showing unexpected kindness upon returning.

“When she returned, she forgave me after the intervention of neighbours. She said she would deduct the money for the goods that were stolen from my salary. I can’t vividly recall whether she later left the money for me. But I love her. She was even consoling me not to cry too much over the incident.”
