Nigerian music star Anthony Ebuka Victor, popularly known as Victony, has disclosed that he typically consumes alcohol before getting on stage, admitting it has become part of his performance routine.
The ‘Soweto’ crooner made the revelation during a conversation with Behind The Prestige, where he opened up about the challenges he faces as a performing artist.
“I have never been on stage without taking alcohol,” Victony said candidly. “I’m trying to do this tour so wow. It’s a big challenge.”
However, he shared that he’s aiming to break that habit during his ongoing ‘Stubborn’ tour, seeking a more genuine and sober connection with his audience.
“For this tour, I’m trying to see my fans clearly and truly connect with them. I just want to try,” he said.
The artist’s decision to face the stage without alcohol has been met with support from fans who commend his effort to be present and vulnerable in his performances.
