Sanwo-Olu Thanks Wife, Ibijoke for Organizing Event His 60th Birthday

Governor Sanwo-Olu to Commission Nigeria’s Largest Safety Footwear Factory in Lagos

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has publicly expressed his deep gratitude to his wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, for organizing a heartfelt thanksgiving ceremony in celebration of his 60th birthday.

In an emotional post shared via his official Instagram page on Thursday, Governor Sanwo-Olu thanked his wife and their children for orchestrating what he described as a “warm and thoughtful” event.

“I’m truly grateful to my dear wife Ibijoke and our wonderful children for putting together such a warm and thoughtful thanksgiving celebration for my birthday. It meant a lot to me,” he wrote.

He also extended appreciation to those who attended the celebration and offered prayers and well wishes.

“Thank you as well to everyone who joined us, your presence made the day even more special. And to those who ministered, I deeply appreciate your prayers and kind words. I’m thankful for it all,” he added.

The thanksgiving service, themed “Rhythms of Worship with Adura,” was held on Wednesday and drew dignitaries from across Nigeria. Among those in attendance were four state governors — Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo, Ademola Adeleke of Osun, and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti.

Also present were former Minister of Works Babatunde Fashola, Lagos Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, federal and state lawmakers, traditional rulers, political party leaders, members of the governor’s cabinet and extended family, as well as numerous friends and well-wishers.

Guests were treated to uplifting worship performances by top gospel artists, including Moses Bliss, Mercy Chinwo, Sunmisola Agbebi, Arugbo Ojo, Emma Oh My God, the MFM Guitar Choir, and the Dream Catchers Academy.

The governor and his wife were seen dancing joyfully during the praise session, with many attendees commending Sanwo-Olu for “gracefully serving and gratefully walking in God’s will.”
