Real Madrid have reportedly ruled out offering Vinicius Junior the same salary package as new signing Kylian Mbappe, despite earlier progress in contract renewal talks.
According to SER Deportivos, the Spanish club has given the Brazilian forward a one-year window to elevate his performance and return for renewed salary discussions. Failing that, the club may consider selling him.
Negotiations between both parties have stalled in recent months, primarily due to Vinicius’s high wage demands. The 25-year-old is said to be insisting on a €30 million salary package including a renewal bonus—a figure the club is currently unwilling to meet.
Although Vinicius’s current deal runs until June 2027, Real Madrid are not prepared to adjust their pay structure to place him on par with Mbappe, who arrived this summer with a blockbuster contract.
Vinicius joined Los Blancos from Flamengo in 2018 and has become a key figure in the squad, but his long-term future could now hinge on either lowering his salary expectations or proving he’s worth the club’s top bracket by next season.
