Prominent legal practitioner Liborous Oshoma has criticized the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over his recent remarks ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Monday during an interview on Arise Television’s ‘The Morning Show’, Oshoma dismissed Wike’s opinion on the evolving political landscape as irrelevant, claiming the minister’s comments lack credibility.
“There are certain individuals whose statements I don’t take seriously because I’ve heard them speak from both sides of their mouths before,” Oshoma said.
He argued that Wike’s current cabinet position under the All Progressives Congress (APC) government influenced his public stance, adding that the former Rivers governor might have been part of the emerging opposition coalition if he wasn’t serving in the APC administration.
“If Wike had not been in this position, he likely would have been a member of the coalition. If the ruling party isn’t worried about the coalition’s prospects, then Minister Wike wouldn’t be issuing statements urging Nigerians not to take them seriously,” he stated.
Oshoma’s remarks come amid growing conversations about a potential opposition alliance ahead of the 2027 elections — a movement many political analysts say could reshape Nigeria’s political dynamics.
