Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has issued a stern warning to his players ahead of the new Premier League season, making it clear that underperformance during training sessions will be publicly addressed.
The 40-year-old Portuguese tactician, who took over from Erik ten Hag last November, is determined to enforce discipline and accountability in his squad following a dismal end to last season.
United finished 15th in the league and suffered a disappointing loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.
Now preparing for his first full season in charge, Amorim has already brought in fresh attacking power with the signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo from Wolves and Brentford, respectively.
But the manager’s strongest statement came during a press conference in the US, where he laid down the law for the upcoming 2025/2026 campaign.
“Now they understand when I say something, I will do it,” Amorim stated firmly.
“I don’t treat the players as babies. But they have rules now and that can change the way you train. I’m always on top.
If you don’t train in the right way, I have footage to show you. And I show you in front of everybody.”
The no-nonsense approach signals a new era at Old Trafford, as Amorim looks to rebuild confidence, restore discipline, and take the team back to glory.
Will public accountability spark a turnaround for the Red Devils? Fans will be watching closely as the new season unfolds.
