Offset addresses Cardi B split on closing track of new album

Offset Receives Immense Praise For New Album Following Private Listening Party

Offset has revealed that the closing track of his upcoming solo album, KIARI, is inspired by the end of his marriage to Cardi B.

The Migos rapper explained that the song, titled Move On, was written as a way to close that chapter of his life.

“It’s about moving on, like, peacefully. That’s what the message is supposed to be,” Offset told Associated Press. “It’s all love and peace. I just ended the album with that, just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on, it’s over and done with.”

Offset — born Kiari Kendrell Cephus — described the track as a cathartic experience, adding that he is ready for both he and Cardi to embrace new beginnings.

The former couple married in 2017, but Cardi filed for divorce in 2020. After reconciling, their relationship remained on and off until she filed for divorce again in 2024. They share three children together: seven-year-old Kulture, three-year-old Wave, and 11-month-old Blossom.

“It was great while it lasted,” Offset reflected. “That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”

Meanwhile, Cardi B confirmed in June that she has moved on, making her relationship with American football player Stefon Diggs public with a yacht photo post.

Offset’s third solo album, KIARI, is set for release on 22 August.
