‘Stop jumping on every hit song’ – Brymo Calls Out Burna Boy, Davido, others

Maverick singer Brymo has sparked conversations in the music industry after urging Burna Boy, Davido, and other top Nigerian artistes to refrain from jumping on every trending song in the form of a remix.

According to Brymo, established stars often remix hit songs from rising acts, not necessarily to support them, but to tap into their buzz and maintain their own relevance.

On his Instagram story, Brymo wrote, “Dear Nigerian mainstream ‘A-listers,’ Burna [Boy], Davido and Co, stop jumping on every hit song in a remix, especially releases by newer acts.

“Let other artistes find their own way. The pretending to be helping them reach higher is a ridiculous watch. Stop seeking relevance in the efforts of ones who know little about the business. It’s vile!”

His comments have stirred debate, with many weighing in on whether remixes genuinely help upcoming artistes or simply serve as a strategy for established stars to stay in the spotlight.
