Air Peace Approved for Direct Lagos–São Paulo Flight to Boost Nigeria–Brazil Connectivity

Nigeria’s largest airline, Air Peace, is set to launch direct flights from Lagos to São Paulo, marking a milestone in aviation ties between Nigeria and Brazil.

The airline has received the green light from the Nigerian government, as confirmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.

This initiative follows a recent bilateral agreement between Presidents Bola Tinubu of Nigeria and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil.

In a reciprocal move, Brazil’s LATAM Airlines will begin cargo services from Brazil to Nigeria, reinforcing trade logistics and fostering mutual cooperation.

The arrangement also includes plans for establishing a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Nigeria to service Embraer aircraft in West and Central Africa.

What This Means

Improved Connectivity: The route will offer direct access between two of the most dynamic economies in their regions, unlocking opportunities in business, tourism, agriculture, education, and culture.
