“I Was the Victim, Not the Villain” – Tiwa Savage Denies Leaking Her S#x Tape

Tiwa Savage Denies Leaking Her S#x Tape

Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has opened up once again about the controversy surrounding her leaked sex tape, clarifying that she was not responsible for making it public.

The singer, who came under heavy criticism after the video went viral in 2021, said she was unfairly accused of releasing it herself to chase relevance. At the time, Tiwa revealed that she had been blackmailed but refused to bow to the demands, leading to the tape’s eventual release.

In a recent interview with American radio station Hot 97, Tiwa Savage recounted the trauma she faced in the aftermath.

“I was bashed for my sex video. A lot of people thought I was just trying to get sympathy. Even people with platforms were quite horrible and blamed me,” she said.

Addressing the accusations that she leaked the tape for attention, Tiwa dismissed the claims as ridiculous.

“They said I did it to be relevant. If I were doing that, I would’ve been intentional about it. I would have used better lighting, lingerie, and my facial expressions would have been on point,” she added.

The award-winning singer noted that many failed to recognize her as the victim in the incident, instead subjecting her to harsh judgment.
