Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has spoken out strongly against domestic violence in the wake of Regina Daniels’ alleged marital troubles with her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
Hours after Regina’s viral video — in which she tearfully claimed she could no longer endure violence in her marriage — Angela took to her Instagram page to share her thoughts, stressing that no man has the right to raise his hands on a woman, whether in anger, love, or marriage.
Angela had earlier reacted humorously to being mistakenly tagged in the viral clip, clarifying that she was not the woman involved. However, her latest post struck a serious tone, highlighting the plight of many women suffering in silence.
She wrote:
“Getting to know what a lot of our women go through — the physical abuse, the pain, the silence — is heartbreaking.
Domestic violence is never justified.
No man has the right to raise his hands on a woman. Not in anger, not in love, not in marriage, NEVER ever!To every woman going through abuse: speak up! Your silence protects your abuser, not you.
Marriage is not a prison. Love is not meant to hurt.I’m calling on every woman, every voice, every platform — let’s speak louder against domestic violence. Let’s protect our sisters, mothers, and anyone going through abuse. You are not alone. We demand protection; every woman deserves dignity and respect. Enough is enough!”
Angela’s message comes as many in Nollywood and beyond continue to express concern for Regina Daniels, who was seen in distress in the viral footage, surrounded by men alleged to be linked to her husband.
