No One Is Above the Law Under My Administration – Tinubu

Peter Obi Criticises Tinubu’s Benue Visit, Says It Lacked Compassion

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the rule of law, declaring that no individual, regardless of status or political influence, will be shielded from legal consequences.

Speaking on Monday while declaring open the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and National Judicial Institute (NJI) Workshop for Justices and Judges in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized that his government does not protect anyone accused of wrongdoing, regardless of political affiliation.

“The Federal Government under my watch will make sure that no one is above the law. We draw our moral distinction as a people from the judiciary, and we owe it the reverence and autonomy to remain the last sanctuary of our collective conscience,” he stated.

The President urged the judiciary to uphold its integrity by remaining impartial, steadfast, and incorruptible in the dispensation of justice. He warned that a society begins to crumble when those tasked with interpreting its laws compromise their duties.

Tinubu further noted that the dream of a corruption-free Nigeria can be achieved if all citizens and institutions commit to doing the right thing within their spheres of influence.

“There is also a certain level of consternation over decisions of courts in serious corruption matters that engender feelings that society is being left with the wrong end of the stick,” he added.

The President’s remarks come amid renewed calls for judicial reforms and greater accountability in the nation’s fight against corruption.
