“Shut the fck up btch” – Peruzzi Fires Back After Being Dragged Into Burna Boy’s Songwriting Controversy

Nigerian singer and songwriter Peruzzi has clapped back at critics who mentioned him in the ongoing debate surrounding Burna Boy’s claim that he writes all his songs without help.

The controversy erupted after @hypetribeng shared a clip from Burna Boy’s recent Twitch livestream with Plaqueboymax, where the Grammy winner declared that he doesn’t use songwriters.

“People are supposed to hear your music and have an idea of who you are in a personal way,” Burna Boy said during the stream.

The statement quickly went viral and drew mixed reactions across social media.

An X user, @Derahback, fired back by claiming Burna Boy had previously worked with other writers.

“Peruzzi wrote Pull Up for him. Yonda wrote songs for him. Ceza Milli wrote songs for him. Why does he feel the need to lie just to please the international audience?”

Peruzzi, who wasn’t having it, responded harshly:

“Were you there? No! So shut the fck up btch.”

He later followed up in another post, clarifying his stance and expressing frustration at constantly being dragged into online drama.

“Done with being a tool for your online battles & wars. Sleep good or don’t, I’m on vacation. It’s all love, I’m a man now.”

The exchange reignited a long-standing debate about ghostwriting and authenticity in Afrobeats, especially after an old clip resurfaced where Peruzzi once hinted at working with Burna Boy.
