Rapper Rod Wave remains in custody following his arrest by the Atlanta Police Department on Friday, facing multiple charges, including firearm possession and drug-related offenses.
According to The New York Post, the 25-year-old artist, whose real name is Rodarius Green, was charged with possession of a firearm or knife during the commission or attempt to commit certain felonies, reckless driving, possession of a Schedule V controlled substance, and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
His attorney, Drew Findling, confirmed to TMZ that the rapper appeared in court and was granted $8,000 (₦6,000) bail.
The Heart on Ice hitmaker has had several legal run-ins over the years. In September 2021, he was arrested on a single battery charge, and in 2022, he was taken into custody in Florida on an outstanding strangulation charge.
In May 2025, Rod Wave faced 14 separate charges, including aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit a felony, criminal damage to property, and simple assault. His legal team maintained at the time that he was a victim, not the perpetrator, in that case.
Just a month later, he was again booked by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office on a battery charge.
Ironically, Rod Wave’s latest arrest came on the same day he received his first-ever Grammy nomination. The rapper was nominated in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category for Sinners, the title track of the vampire film starring Michael B. Jordan.
