Anthony Joshua’s Driver Charged to Court Over Fatal Ogun Accident

The Ogun State Police Command has charged Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, the driver of Nigerian-British boxing star Anthony Joshua, to court over a fatal road accident.

DAILY POST recalls that the police on Thursday confirmed that the driver had been taken into custody following the incident.

Providing an update on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed in a statement that Kayode has now been arraigned before the Sagamu Magistrate Court.

According to the police, the case has been adjourned to January 20, 2026, for further hearing.

“The Ogun State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the driver of the Lexus SUV involved in the Anthony Joshua accident case, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, aged 46, was charged to the Sagamu Magistrate Court today, 2nd January, 2026, and the case has been adjourned to 20th January, 2026,” the statement read.

Anthony Joshua was involved in the accident on Monday, which reportedly claimed the lives of two of his close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.
