“No be me be your Papa” – Davido Rejects Teenager’s DNA Test Request, Says Paternity Issue Was Settled Years Ago

Davido

Award-winning Nigerian singer Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, has responded publicly to a teenage girl identified as Anu Adeleke, who requested that he undergo another DNA test to confirm whether he is her biological father.

The singer addressed the issue on Thursday in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), dismissing the request and stating that the matter had already been conclusively resolved by multiple DNA tests conducted previously.

According to Davido, he never had a personal relationship with the teenager’s mother beyond participation in the DNA testing process. He said several DNA tests were conducted at different medical facilities, including hospitals selected by both parties, and all results showed that he is not the teenager’s father.

Davido added that he would not be engaging further on the matter, insisting that the results were clear and final.

His response came after Anu shared an Instagram post, appealing to him to agree to another DNA test as she entered her teenage years. In her statement, the teenager reflected on her upbringing, emotional struggles, and academic journey.

She alleged that she experienced bullying at a young age after telling classmates that Davido was her father, a situation she said led to emotional distress and the need for professional support. Despite the challenges, she said she excelled academically, became a class prefect, and remains focused on her education.

Anu stated that her request for another DNA test was personal, saying it was driven by a desire for clarity as she grows older and not influenced by family members.

In his posts, Davido reiterated that DNA tests were conducted at five hospitals in total — three selected by him and two by the other party — and that all results were negative. He described the renewed request as unnecessary and said he was closing the matter permanently.

Davido has previously acknowledged paternity of his other children following DNA confirmation and has publicly stated that he does not avoid DNA testing when questions arise, insisting that scientific evidence should be the final authority in such matters.

As of the time of this report, no new legal action has been announced by either party.
