Nigerian influencer and entrepreneur Priscilla Ojo has denied reports claiming she described postpartum depression as “an illusion caused by poverty.”
The mother of one addressed the allegation in her Instagram Story after an X user circulated a post that attributed the statement to her.
The post alleged that Priscilla, while answering questions about marriage after childbirth, claimed she never experienced postpartum depression and believed the condition was caused by poverty.
Reacting to the claim, Priscilla dismissed it as false and offensive, insisting she never made such remarks.
“I never said this, what’s wrong with Twitter people? Be ready to provide evidence!!” she wrote.
She further condemned the statement attributed to her, describing it as insensitive to mothers.
“What do you mean I said ‘postpartum is an illusion caused by poverty’? Insulting to mothers, very insensitive,” she added.
The denial comes amid growing online conversations around postpartum mental health, with Priscilla making it clear that she does not share the views attributed to her and distancing herself from the viral claim.
