Mayweather, Pacquiao Set for Sept 19 Las Vegas Rematch

Mayweather, Pacquiao Set for Las Vegas Rematch at the Sphere

Boxing legends Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao are set to meet again in a highly anticipated rematch scheduled for September 19 at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

Mayweather, 48, will officially come out of retirement for the bout, marking 11 years since their first clash on May 2, 2015 — a showdown famously billed as the “Fight of the Century.” In that encounter, he secured a unanimous decision victory over Pacquiao.

The 2015 fight generated a record 4.6 million pay-per-view buys and more than $600 million in revenue, making it the most lucrative bout in boxing history. Mayweather reportedly earned an estimated $300 million from the contest.

“I already fought and beat Manny once. This time will be the same result,” Mayweather said ahead of the rematch.

Pacquiao, 47, returned to action on July 19, 2025, when he challenged Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight championship. The fight ended in a majority draw, with Barrios retaining his title.

Mayweather retired from professional boxing in 2017 with an unbeaten record of 50 fights, though he has continued to participate in exhibition bouts. Pacquiao, a multiple-weight world champion, initially retired in 2021 and mounted an unsuccessful bid for the Philippine presidency before returning to the ring last year.

The upcoming rematch is expected to rekindle one of boxing’s most iconic rivalries and draw significant global attention.
