Edo people had chance to choose educated man but chose Okpebholo – Abati

Reuben Abati Slams Wike: "Rude, Disrespectful… Tinubu Should Beware"

Arise Television anchor and former presidential aide Reuben Abati has criticised the people of Edo State following Governor Monday Okpebholo’s difficulty in pronouncing the acronym “GCFR.”

Speaking on The Morning Show on Arise Television on Wednesday, Abati said Edo voters had the opportunity to elect what he described as a highly educated and intelligent candidate but chose otherwise.

He was reacting to a moment in which Governor Okpebholo appeared to stumble while attempting to pronounce the “GCFR” suffix attached to the name of President Bola Tinubu.

“Like Yoruba people would say, it is finished. Edo people had the chance to choose a highly educated man who was very intelligent. They did not want him. But they chose Monday Okpebholo,” Abati said during the broadcast.

He further remarked that the governor struggled with what he described as a simple acronym, adding that “GCFR becomes DSS, GSM, GSSM.”

Abati concluded that the people of Edo State should accept the outcome of their electoral decision.
