The government of Iran has vowed to punish the President of the United States, Donald Trump, over the killing of its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The Islamic Republic made the declaration in a post shared on the social media platform X on Saturday, one week after Khamenei was reportedly killed in an airstrike carried out by the United States and its ally.
“We will punish Trump for assassinating Supreme Leader Khamenei. We will never let him go,” it vowed.
Reports indicate that several casualties have been recorded since the conflict began on February 28, with many Iranians reportedly killed. Six American soldiers have also been confirmed dead since the outbreak of the war.
Reacting to the development, an X user identified as @sixtoninee expressed support for Iran’s position.
“Trump deserves this and I’m sure Iran will do this. Persians have history of being braves. They won’t let it go.
“Israel and the United have already failed in changing the regime. They made the regime more stronger. They are losing this war from every angle.”
