The woman accused of firing multiple shots at the Beverly Hills mansion of pop star Rihanna while she was reportedly inside has been identified and formally charged.

According to reports, Ivana Ortiz, 35, was arrested following the incident and charged with attempted murder by the Los Angeles Police Department, as reported by Page Six.

Ortiz is currently being held in custody, with bail set at $10.225 million (£7.61 million).

The shooting reportedly occurred on Sunday afternoon when a woman fired several rounds toward the singer’s residence.

Reports by the Los Angeles Times indicated that the mansion in Beverly Hills was struck by at least 10 rounds of gunfire, with one bullet penetrating the wall of the home.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told the outlet that officers responded to reports of the shooting at about 1:21 p.m. local time.

Police radio dispatch from the incident revealed that “approximately 10 shots” from a rifle were fired at the property from a white Tesla parked across the street from the mansion’s gate.

Investigators also pointed to a Facebook post from Ortiz dated February 23, which appeared to reference the singer. The post read: “@badgalriri Are you there? Cause I was waiting for your AIDS 5-head self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me where I’m not at.”

Rihanna lives in the colonial-style mansion with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three young children.

Authorities say it remains unclear whether the rapper or their children were also inside the house at the time of the shooting.
