Veteran tennis star Novak Djokovic has expressed his desire to win one more Grand Slam title before bringing his illustrious career to an end.
The Serbian icon is currently tied with Margaret Court on 24 Grand Slam titles and is aiming to secure a record-breaking 25th major crown.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Djokovic made it clear that he still has unfinished business at the highest level of the sport.
“Obviously, I’d like to win at least another Grand Slam title, stay healthy, and continue playing for years to come,” he said.
“But there are so many other things I want to be involved in, to observe the changes taking place in tennis. I can’t wait to see what the future holds, and I’d like to see it as an active player too.”
Djokovic also opened up about the challenge of balancing his professional career with family life and long-term ambitions beyond tennis.
“I have so many plans and dreams, especially as a father. I want to be there for my children’s goals because I travel so much and I’m often away from them and my wife.
“There are also many professional projects I can’t wait to share with the world. The areas that interest me are wellness, longevity, and physical and mental health. These are areas where I believe my contribution is still to come.”
Reflecting on setbacks, the tennis great admitted that he often replays moments in his mind after defeats as part of his drive for improvement.
“When I lose a match, I think about everything — what I could have done better. I regret not making different decisions. In my personal life, it’s the same.
“I think we all have moments when we feel we could have done better. I can’t lie to myself and say I don’t have regrets, I just don’t dwell on them too much.”
Despite the passage of time, Djokovic continues to compete at the highest level, having reached at least the semi-finals in each of the last five Grand Slam men’s singles tournaments as he pursues a historic 25th title.
