Cardi B Wins Legal Battle as Court Dismisses Lawsuit Over ‘Enough (Miami)’

A judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed against Cardi B over her 2024 hit single Enough (Miami).

The case alleged that the track copied elements from an earlier song titled Greasy Frybread. However, the court ruled on Monday that there were “fatal deficiencies” in the lawsuit.

The suit was originally filed by producers Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar, who created Greasy Frybread for rapper Sten Joddi.

They claimed that Cardi B had used the melody and bassline from their track in Enough (Miami), which reached number nine on the Billboard Hot 100.

Initially, the duo pursued federal copyright infringement claims, but later dropped them after it was revealed that Greasy Frybread had not been registered with the United States Copyright Office.

They subsequently revised their case, filing claims under Texas state law. However, U.S. District Judge Fernando Rodriguez Jr. ruled that the lawsuit lacked essential legal elements, noting that the business interference claim contained “no factual support.”

The track Enough (Miami) was recently re-released as part of a new version of the album Am I the Drama?.

Cardi B remains one of the most successful female rappers in music history, holding the record for the most number-one singles by a female rapper on the Billboard Hot 100 and being the only female rapper to achieve multiple solo number-one hits. Her breakout track Bodak Yellow is also the highest-certified digital female rap song of all time.
